The problem reported by readers is that some people throw food, leftovers and other rubbish out of their windows. Various kinds of waste can sometimes be found in front of blocks of flats on housing estates in Bolesławiec. These include, for example, food leftovers (e.g. slices of bread, bones, meat...), bottles, cans, cigarette butts and flower pots.
It is difficult to understand why someone would throw rubbish away in this way and make a proverbial mess in front of their own windows. The fact that rubbish on lawns looks terrible is the least of the problems. Food waste spoils quickly. In addition, it is an easy source of food for mice and rats, which nobody wants to see in their surroundings.
Some people who throw food leftovers out of their windows may think that there is nothing wrong with it because, after all, birds, cats or dogs that sometimes hang around the buildings will eat it. And what about the other rubbish? Surely someone will clean it up eventually.
