Officers from the Independent Prevention Police Unit in Legnica stopped a 43-year-old Opel driver for a roadside check in the municipality of Zawidów. He was not wearing a seat belt. – The man was travelling with a 21-year-old passenger – reports Commissioner Agnieszka Goguł, press officer for the District Police Commander in Zgorzelec.

She adds: – During the intervention, it turned out that the younger man had a plastic bag containing dried plant material on him. As there was a suspicion that it was drugs, he was arrested. Meanwhile, the driver was cautioned for not wearing a seat belt.

It soon emerged that the aforementioned bag contained marijuana. What is more, at the 21-year-old’s home, officers secured another plastic bag containing marijuana, a jeweller’s scale and 9 cannabis plants.

Spokeswoman:

The man may now face up to 3 years in prison for possessing narcotic substances and cultivating cannabis plants other than fibrous hemp.
