The incident took place on May 22, at approximately 3:15 p.m., on the road between Nawojów Łużycki and Nowogrodziec. As reported by eluban.pl:
The driver of a VW Golf, travelling towards Nowogrodziec, attempted to overtake a truck with a semi-trailer on a long bend in the road.

The driver either did not see the cars approaching from the opposite direction or miscalculated. The speeding Golf, which had accelerated on the straight section of road, came close to overtaking the truck.
According to drivers travelling in the opposite direction, when the Volkswagen driver realised there was no chance of fitting through, he swerved and clipped the truck. The result? The vehicle ended up in a field, where it rolled over.
Both the car driver and the truck driver were sober. Police are establishing the causes and circumstances of the incident.
