Update 2024-05-21
Following the autopsy, an expert ruled out the involvement of third parties in the incident. The woman most likely suffered carbon monoxide poisoning. She managed to get out of the car and presumably also tried to save her dog, which remained inside the vehicle.
It is also probable that, at some point, a spark from the exhaust pipe caused the fire. It was very dry in the forest, so the flames spread quickly. Both the resident of Bolesławiec County and her pet died in the fire.
According to investigators from Bolesławiec, everything points to a very unfortunate accident.
Update 2024-05-20
The two incidents are connected: an approximately 40-year-old woman, a resident of Bolesławiec County, died in a car fire. Experts are carrying out investigative activities. The Prosecutor’s Office is not providing details of the case for now.
Officially: everything points to the tragedy having occurred without the involvement of third parties.
