The incident occurred during the night of 7–8 May. Bolesławiec traffic police stopped a vehicle travelling at excessive speed in a built-up area. At the wheel was a 28-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County.

The man, driving through one of the rural localities in Bolesławiec Commune, ignored the speed limit and exceeded it by 56 km/h.

It added: – The driver’s licence was suspended for three months, and he was fined and given penalty points.

It concluded:

Speed limits are there to be obeyed. Excessive speed is often the cause of dangerous road incidents, which is why Bolesławiec police officers are appealing to drivers to ease off the accelerator.
