Unit: – More than 70 people will train under the supervision of experienced personnel for the next month, and will later swear an oath to the unit’s banner.

The Homeland Defence Act introduced a new type of military service – voluntary basic military service. This form of military service is intended for all those who have never previously served in the military. It enables them to complete military training and, in the future, join the reserves or enter the professional army.
Until recently, people interested in military service could, apart from studying at a military academy or taking an officer or non-commissioned officer course, apply for preparatory service. However, this last option was abolished by the Homeland Defence Act, which has been in force since April 23, 2022. Preparatory service was replaced by a new active-service option for volunteers – voluntary basic military service. Applying for it is the first step toward being called up to serve in the Polish Armed Forces.
