As reported by the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment:
Precisely at 12:00 p.m., a flag detail consisting of representatives of the uniformed services raised the State Flag on a flagpole in the city center, with numerous residents, flag-bearing units, administrative authorities and commanders of the uniformed services in attendance.
The unit added:
During the ceremony, the President of the Lower Silesian Board of the Association of Veterans of the Republic of Poland and Former Political Prisoners, retired Colonel Kazimierz Wilk, awarded the unit’s flag the “Gold Badge of Merit for the ZKRP and BWP,” granted to the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment for “perseverance in working for the development of the veterans’ movement and cultivating its beautiful traditions.”
