Police officers from the Police Station in Karpacz, as a result of their operations, detained a 32-year-old resident of Karkonosze County suspected of causing severe bodily injuries resulting in the victim’s death.

Officers established that the incident occurred during the night of 22–23 April this year in one of the localities in Podgórzyn Commune. That day, the victim was returning home with his acquaintance, and they were drinking alcohol together on the way. At some point, an argument broke out between them, followed by a scuffle, which resulted in the victim’s death. It turned out that the 32-year-old hit the man in the head with a stone, causing injuries that led to his death. The 32-year-old then fled.

While investigating the death of a resident of Karkonosze County, based on the information gathered and an analysis of surveillance-camera footage, the officers identified and then detained the 32-year-old as a suspect in the commission of the crime.

He was placed in police custody. The man now faces even life imprisonment for the crime committed. He was charged at the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra, and on 27 April this year the District Court ordered pre-trial detention for a period of two months.
