Officers from the Police Station in Nowogrodziec, while patrolling the municipality, passed a car. Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters: – Behind the wheel, they saw a man whom they knew to be subject to a court ban on driving.

The officers tried to stop the vehicle using flashing lights and sirens. The police command: – The driver not only failed to stop, but also began fleeing. At one point, the pursued vehicle entered a dirt road and hit a police car; the driver then stopped the vehicle and continued fleeing on foot. A passenger, to whom the vehicle belonged, remained in the car.

The escapee was quickly located and arrested by police officers. The 30-year-old admitted that he had been driving the pursued vehicle. He explained that he had fled because he was subject to a court ban on driving.

The officers checked the sobriety of the resident of Nowogrodziec Municipality; the drug test was positive, indicating the presence of psychoactive substances in the suspect’s body.

The driver was charged and will be held responsible for failing to stop for a road inspection, driving under the influence of an intoxicating substance, violating a court ban and damaging a police vehicle. Each of the offenses carries a penalty of up to five years in prison.
