Another driver decided to test her car’s capabilities in violation of the regulations. Lower Silesian police officers noticed a BMW driver travelling at speeds significantly exceeding those permitted on this stretch of road.
The officers, using an unmarked police car equipped with a video recorder, measured the speed of the driver moving dynamically. The device indicated 201 km/h, meaning that the woman exceeded the speed limit by 81 km/h.
The woman stated that she had not looked at the speedometer and was unaware of the speeds at which she was travelling. Due to the serious violation of the applicable regulations, the police officers imposed a fine of PLN 2,500 on her, and 15 penalty points were added to her individual record.
Police remind drivers that excessive speed remains one of the main causes of road accidents, and offences involving speeding occur both in built-up areas and outside them. Every day, Lower Silesian officers respond to all signs of aggressive driving while on duty, using the measures provided for by law.
