– A routine sobriety check for a Dacia driver ended in police custody and the prospect of a prison sentence of up to 10 years – reports junior staff sergeant Łukasz Porębski from the Press Section of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław.
And he adds:
After just a few seconds of conversation, the officers realized that the driver of the Dacia passenger car had something to hide. The man was stopped for a traffic check to carry out a sobriety test. However, the officers were particularly struck by the 59-year-old's nervous behavior.
It came to light that the driver stopped for inspection was carrying—quite remarkably—almost five kilograms of amphetamine in the vehicle's trunk. He told the officers that the drugs did not belong to him and that he did not know where they had come from or how they had ended up in his car.
The 59-year-old was first taken into police custody and was then remanded in custody by the court for three months. He now faces up to 10 years in prison.
