Kamil Barczyk: – I warmly welcome you all on this very hot day, when we will present candidates for the Bolesławiec City Council, the Bolesławiec County Council, and, of course, myself as a candidate for the Lower Silesian Regional Assembly from the Jelenia Góra constituency. Kamil Barczyk, I will lead today’s conference, representing all the candidates from the Third Way electoral committee. Wojciech Kasprzyk, the leader of our group and number one candidate for the county council, is standing beside me. Behind me are all the councillors and candidates for the City Council and County Council. We wanted to briefly present our election program. A program focused on our region, the city of Bolesławiec and Bolesławiec County. These are specifics. At today’s conference, these specifics will concern health, public health and the health of our residents, as well as social care. This is to highlight the problems that still exist. We would like to solve all these problems during the upcoming term. As a candidate for the Lower Silesian Regional Assembly, I primarily want to focus on healthcare infrastructure and, as a result, improving access to and the quality of services. Every county must have a well-functioning clinic that is accessible to all residents. We can see in Bolesławiec and Bolesławiec County that more than 100,000 residents are treated each year and have very good access to healthcare. As a result, Bolesławiec leads our region in terms of life expectancy. We truly want to extend this throughout the Jelenia Góra region—to Lwówek, Zgorzelec, Jelenia Góra itself and Kamienna Góra—so that the standard of outpatient care is good. How can this be done? We must invest in clinics in our constituency. We do not want the disparity between Wrocław and the Jelenia Góra constituency to grow. We want a well-functioning clinic with specialists to be readily accessible in every county, as it is, among other places, in Bolesławiec. We also want to focus on preventive initiatives. We conduct a number of preventive campaigns here at the hospital, but this cannot be an isolated situation. Virtually the entire Jelenia Góra region and all of Lower Silesia must focus on greatly intensified prevention campaigns. These campaigns must be directed at all residents, especially older people, but also children. Therefore, if we govern or co-govern in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, the Lower Silesian budget will certainly include funds for preventive campaigns concerning cardiovascular diseases, strokes, heart attacks and congenital postural defects in children. The range of possibilities is truly very broad. My candidacy for the Regional Assembly guarantees that I will work for the public health of the residents of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship and for our Jelenia Góra region, improving access so that the residents of Lower Silesia can actually live longer. Let us conclude the presentation of the candidate for the Lower Silesian Regional Assembly. Now I would like to introduce the leader of the Bolesławiec County list, Dr Wojciech Kasprzyk.

Wojciech Kasprzyk: – Thank you, Director. Ladies and gentlemen, above all, we want to continue the good work we have carried out over the past five years. As chairman of the county council, I do not remember anyone ever investing as much money in infrastructure in Bolesławiec County as has been invested so far. Good cooperation at the municipal and county-government levels truly distinguishes us; it is clear that this was a good decision. Today we can speak concretely: we have specific things we want to do if the residents of Bolesławiec County, the city of Bolesławiec, Nowogrodziec and the other municipalities elect us. We can guarantee several key things: we will open a pulmonology ward and a cardiology ward at this hospital, our Hospital of Saint Luke. We already have a design for a helicopter landing pad. We know that it is practically ready; we are only waiting for the Ministry of Health’s approval, and the landing pad may soon be built. We have a number of different initiatives, including expanding the parking area around the hospital and further developing its infrastructure. Over these five years, we have seen how significantly our hospital has grown into a leader in Lower Silesia—not to mention that in Poland we are one of the better hospitals. We have an excellent staff, which we have managed to assemble here over the years. We have very good wards, so we want our hospital to continue expanding its activities and capabilities, so that residents of Bolesławiec County can use our hospital and do not have to travel outside the county. And now Ms Kinga Gęsicka, leader of the City Council list.

Kinga Gęsicka-Biały: – I am running with Third Way in the third constituency for the City Council, and as the leader of women’s groups at the national level, one of my priorities is to ensure that we care for women, so that women in our hospital and at our clinic on Starzyńskiego Street feel safe and receive from the National Health Fund the contraception they need.

Agnieszka Tucholska: – We have an interesting program to build independent-living apartments for people with disabilities and for our beloved seniors, with private rooms, as well as to build infrastructure adapted for people with disabilities and older people.

Katarzyna Bachciak-Gorzelak: – As a Bolesławiec city councillor, I would like to deal with what I do best, namely legal matters and, above all, the rights of Bolesławiec residents. Many issues therefore remain open, but our priority is patients’ rights, access to a patient rights ombudsman and all the matters that are very important to our residents.

Barbara Smoleńska: – I am president of the Bolesławiec branch of the Society of Friends of Lwów and the Southeastern Borderlands and a retired teacher. As a result, I am well acquainted with the problems of older people, seniors and young people. If I earn the residents’ trust, I would like to work on senior policy. I want to ensure that seniors feel good in our city, remain active and can also cooperate as part of intergenerational collaboration. As I have done so far, and perhaps even more actively, I will try to create various activities and projects that bring seniors and young people together. Such projects always provide many opportunities and benefits for both sides.

Kamil Barczyk: – Thank you very much. As you can see, this is a very specific program concerning health policy and social policy. We focus on specifics and further development, so that residents of the Jelenia Góra constituency, Bolesławiec County and the city of Bolesławiec feel secure and know that they live in truly high-quality conditions—that they live long and healthy lives. This is very important to us. We will conclude today’s conference, presenting the strengths that will enable Third Way to operate in the city, the county and the Lower Silesian Regional Assembly.
