The candidate for chair of the Lower Silesian Region of the Civic Coalition, Monika Wielichowska, announced that she would file an electoral protest with the National Electoral Commission. The decision follows, as she emphasizes, identified irregularities in the electoral process at the Electoral Commission in Wrocław.

In a published statement, Wielichowska points to several serious reservations concerning, among other things, the conduct of the vote. In her view, full ballot secrecy was not ensured, particularly with regard to the possibility for members to cast their votes independently. As she notes, the situation was documented in numerous secured photographic materials.

– Within the prescribed period, I will file an electoral protest with the National Electoral Commission. The noticeable, small difference between the votes cast for me and my rival makes it plausible that the irregularities described could have significantly affected the final election result – Wielichowska stressed.

STATEMENT

Due to identified irregularities in the electoral process at the Electoral Commission in Wrocław, consisting of:

▪ failure to ensure ballot secrecy, particularly independent voting documented in numerous secured photographic materials;

▪ observed attempts by Candidates and Candidates’ representatives to influence how Civic Coalition members voted, in an extreme case by indicating positions on the ballot;

▪ overt electioneering by a supporter of my Rival for Regional Chair within the polling station and the Electoral Commission’s failure to respond to this fact.

I declare that, within the prescribed period, I will file an electoral protest with the National Electoral Commission. I believe that the noticeable, slight difference between the votes cast for me and my Rival makes it plausible that the irregularities described above could have significantly affected the final election result.
