The official opening will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the revitalized palace park, directly next to the western wing of the palace. The organizers have prepared numerous attractions combining art with the latest technologies, introducing guests to the multicultural world of ceramics.
The program includes, among other things:
- A concert by a saxophone ensemble made up of graduates and students of the Witold Lutosławski State Music School, Level I, in Bolesławiec, led by Mateusz Boduch, a lecturer at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław;
- A vocal performance, “Norwegian Folk Melodies,” by actress, singer and Telemark Museum employee Karen Kjeøen Erikstad, accompanied by a presentation of a traditional Norwegian regional costume;
- A multimedia historical show projected onto the building’s façade, enhanced with linear laser mapping elements, as well as a spatial spectacle of light, sound and special effects.
After the official part concludes, the doors of the new Museum of Ceramics building will open. Inside the Palace, visitors will find, in addition to innovative exhibitions combining the history of ceramics with the history of the city, other attractions, including two spectacular temporary exhibitions: “European Route of Ceramics: Italian faience from Faenza and Deruta” and “European Route of Ceramics: Norwegian porcelain from Porsgrunn”.
Museum visitors will be able to take part in open workshops on decorating porcelain items, led by employees of the Norwegian Porselensmuseet in Porsgrunn – Telemark Museum. A lottery has also been prepared for those interested in the history of the city, and every guest will receive a commemorative gift.
The event will crown many years of efforts by the Municipality of Bolesławiec and the Museum of Ceramics, aimed at including Bolesławiec in the prestigious European community of ceramic centers that make up the European Route of Ceramics. Joining the ERC and renovating the historic palace were made possible through cooperation with the Norwegian partner – Telemark Museum in Skien – as part of the project “Poland and Norway on the European Route of Ceramics: Including Bolesławiec and Porsgrunn in an International Network of Cooperation between Cities with Ceramic Traditions.” The project was co-financed by the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism as part of the “Culture” Programme implemented by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
The revitalization project for the Pückler palace was prepared by TOYA DESIGN, construction work was carried out by Lindner Polska Sp. z o.o., while the exhibition design for the permanent exhibition was completed by Ejsak Group. The design and implementation work was carried out in close cooperation with Museum of Ceramics staff.
