The incident occurred on Thursday, March 21. A shed was on fire in Milików near Bolesławiec (Lower Silesian Voivodeship). Firefighters from Gościszów were among those sent to put out the fire. All four were drunk.

“The firefighters were falling over near the vehicles. The police were there and wrote everything down,” says our reader, who informed us about the incident today.

“I confirm. Three firefighters were under the influence of alcohol and received fines. The fourth, the vehicle’s driver, will face proceedings. They were removed from the operation during the response,” says Piotr Pilarczyk, deputy commander of the State Fire Service district headquarters in Bolesławiec. The operation to extinguish the shed fire was carried out by other firefighter units.

The firefighters from Gościszów are members of an association. For now, they have been withdrawn from the so-called operational roster, meaning they will not be sent to any operations. Today, a meeting was held between the commander of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec and the association’s board.
