She wrote to us a reader, who asked us to raise the issue of the lack of a Dino store in Tomaszów Bolesławiecki:

The site was prepared; it was only waiting to be rezoned. The councillors did not agree.

According to our informant, it was a “total conspiracy”. She claims that, during a meeting of one of the committees of the Warta Bolesławiecka Commune Council, the owner of another store “tearfully complained that his turnover would fall”. The reader: – And all the councillors magnanimously voted against building a Dino store in Tomaszów.

We asked the Warta Bolesławiecka Commune Office about the matter. The commune head:

In response to your questions regarding the Council’s decision concerning the construction of a Dino store in Tomaszów Bolesławiecki, I inform you that a councillor exercises their mandate independently. When deciding how to vote on resolutions, they do not state the reasons for their actions. Therefore, the executive body is unable to say what motivated the councillors when they proceeded to vote.

The local government head added: – Furthermore, I inform you that the matter of changing the local spatial development plan for service areas, within which it will be possible to construct a retail and service facility with a sales area of up to 400 m2, has not been blocked, but postponed due to an amendment to the Spatial Planning and Development Act.
