A ceremony marking the symbolic handover of another electric bus took place on Wednesday, March 20, in the Councilors’ Hall of Bolesławiec Town Hall. – Another bus, another element in building a smart city, smart city – summed up Piotr Roman, president of Bolesławiec, during Wednesday’s meeting. – We have free public transport; it is important to us that this transport cover increasingly larger areas of the city. There are quite a few routes, but perhaps we will manage to launch new ones.

He added that the City of Bolesławiec plans to purchase another five buses of this type.

The mayor: – When it comes to our region, we have nothing to be ashamed of. On the contrary: our MZK company is one of the most modern and environmentally friendly. And very punctual.

Waldemar Wlazło, a director at Solaris, emphasized that although the new bus is compact, it also has “substantial passenger capacity,” as well as many amenities, such as monitoring. He also noted that it is a “completely Polish bus, designed and built in Poland.”

There is an app for passengers

– Passengers will be able to track the bus in real time – explained Andrzej Jagiera, president of MZK Bolesławiec. – All you have to do is open the myBus app, which anyone can install on their phone free of charge.

Using the app, passengers can check not only the timetable for city buses. They can also see where the vehicle they are interested in is currently located and determine when it will arrive at a given stop. – I think this will make it much easier for passengers to use public transport – emphasized A. Jagiera.

In 2023, MZK transported 3.4 million passengers. (For comparison: when public transport was paid and also covered the area of Gmina Bolesławiec, MZK transported approximately 2 million passengers annually).

More about the myBus app is available on the MZK Bolesławiec website.
