The incident took place on March 15. Jelenia Góra Emergency Service:

(…) our Emergency Medical Team (...) received an emergency call at 08:08 concerning a patient whose health and life were at risk. After arriving at the scene, our medics immediately went to the address of the call, leaving the ambulance parked in the only possible place, on a narrow internal road. The patient’s condition was so serious that our paramedics had to focus on saving the man’s life. After stabilizing his vital functions, they decided to transport him urgently to the nearest hospital emergency department, also asking the Medical Dispatch Centre in Legnica to send the Fire Service to assist with evacuating the patient.

The medics emphasize:

Our ambulance was parked in a way that allowed us to remove the stretcher without difficulty and transport the patient quickly to the hospital—we do not hide the fact that it blocked passage along the internal road. However, we have the right to stop our ambulances in this way, because our patients’ lives and health are the overriding priority, and the Road Traffic Law—specifically Article 53—allows us not to comply with regulations governing movement and stopping. In addition, while the vehicle is stopped, we do not have to use sound signals, only blue light signals. That was the case here.

And they add: “Unfortunately, our paramedics heard only a collection of insults and terms from you that one would search for in vain in the vocabulary of cultured people. Because we treat road aggression and the safety of our patients and medics as a priority, we decided to inform the Jelenia Góra Municipal Police Headquarters about your behavior on the road. It will receive footage from the cameras installed in all our ambulances. We do not consent to such behavior!

And they add: “Furthermore, while performing their professional duties, our medical staff have the protection provided to public officials—insults, threats and epithets directed at us will be included in the report of the entire incident.
