Update 15:21

Principal Elżbieta Markowska:

In connection with the article “Reader on the school in Tomaszów: The councillors slept through recent years,” the principal of the Public Primary School named after the Soldiers of the Second Army of the Polish Army in Tomaszów Bol. states that the fence was damaged in recent days as a result of a car collision. The woman responsible immediately contacted the school and declared that she would cover the cost of repairing the fence section. The fence will be repaired in the coming days.

The principal also reports that the replacement of another section of the fence, including the fence along the road, is planned for the current calendar year.

Regarding the damaged bench near the “Orlik” sports complex, the principal explains that the school regularly inspects and repairs equipment damaged by vandals. The school’s students use the facility only under a teacher’s supervision, and they do not damage property at such times. The damage is caused by people using the “Orlik” after school hours.

A reader wrote to us:

Election fever has begun; councillors who are councillors in name only have slept through recent years. Example: the Primary School in Tomaszów Bolesławiecki.

She added caustically:

They do not see things like those shown in the attached photos: broken benches, an old, crooked, rusty fence, and a broken concrete post; it is unclear why it is lying there (…).
