– Police officers in Lubań received a report that one of the postmen working in the city had been attacked – reports Asp. Aleksandra Pieprzycka of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław. – The reporting party described the incident in detail. According to his account, while he was in the stairwell of one of the apartment buildings, he was attacked by two men unknown to him. The masked perpetrators, as the victim reported, struck him in the stomach, rendering him unable to defend himself, and then took a pouch containing money.
She adds: – Inside was cash amounting to nearly PLN 45,000, which was intended for Lubań residents. The beaten postman said that the men fled. It is worth noting that the scene of the incident was not covered by surveillance cameras.

Several hours after the incident, police officers brought a man they suspected of being connected with the case to the station in Lubań. Asp. A. Pieprzycka: – However, the man was not the perpetrator of the robbery but an accomplice.
It turned out that the mastermind and organizer of the staged crime was... a 34-year-old postman. The officers: – It was he who, hoping for quick and easy profit, initiated the faking of the robbery and involved his colleague.
The 31-year-old detainee knew the allegedly injured 34-year-old postman very well. Lubań police determined that the two men had agreed to stage a robbery and appropriate the stolen cash for their own needs. The spokesperson: – However, they did not know that the diligent Lubań police would quickly thwart their wicked plan and reveal the truth.
The police recovered the stolen property. The postman was charged with falsely reporting a crime that had not been committed, misappropriating money and giving false testimony, while his accomplice was charged with theft.
The older suspect faces up to eight years in prison. The younger man could spend five years behind bars.
