Lwówec criminal investigators, travelling in an unmarked police car on the A4 motorway towards Wrocław, noticed a lorry that was not staying in its lane. Police:

The driver's manner of driving indicated that he might be under the influence of alcohol. The officers therefore decided to stop the vehicle for a roadside check.

As it turned out, the dangerous driving was not caused by alcohol at all, but by fatigue. Officers:

The man admitted that he was sleep-deprived. Had it not been for the response of the Lwówek officers, who ordered the driver to pull into a car park and rest, a road accident with tragic consequences could have occurred.

They add:

Let us remember that when we are driving and drowsiness overcomes us, we should stop immediately in a safe place. It is worth getting some fresh air and even doing the slightest physical exercises, which will certainly wake our bodies up. Let us not disregard drowsiness behind the wheel, as it may have truly tragic consequences.
