– The duty officer at the Zgorzelec police headquarters received a report from residents that on one of the streets in Zgorzelec, a young man driving an Audi with German registration plates had forcibly dragged a woman into the car and driven away – reports Sgt. Agnieszka Goguł, press officer for the Commander of the District Police Headquarters in Zgorzelec.

The vehicle was found in Pieńsk. The spokeswoman: – Further actions led to the driver’s arrest and the woman being found. They were both in a supermarket doing their shopping.

The police determined that there had been a misunderstanding between the couple, and that the woman was in fact not in danger. But that was not the end of the matter. Commissioner A. Goguł:

However, a check of the available databases showed that the 26-year-old Audi driver was subject to a court ban on driving and was wanted under an arrest warrant for temporary detention.

The man was taken to the Zgorzelec police headquarters. The officers conclude:

He will now face court for using a registration plate assigned to another vehicle and driving despite a court ban. He could face up to 5 years in prison.

They add:

Thanks to the witnesses’ quick reaction, the police were able to take immediate action and clarify the entire incident. So do not remain indifferent, and if you notice that something bad may happen to someone, react! Notify the police as soon as possible.
