The agreement was signed by Lower Silesia Voivodeship Marshal Cezary Przybylski and Bolesławiec Mayor Piotr Roman. The agreement was initialled by the heads of the municipalities and counties comprising the Integrated Territorial Investments of the Western Functional Area.
The agreement sets out the principles, procedure and conditions for implementing the Territorial Instrument: Integrated Territorial Investments of the Western Functional Area, including the implementation of strategic projects under European Funds for Lower Silesia 2021–2027, in accordance with the Lower Silesia Voivodeship Development Strategy 2030 and the Integrated Territorial Investments Strategy.
The most important objectives of Integrated Territorial Investments include:
- promoting a partnership model of cooperation between various administrative units in urban functional areas;
- increasing the effectiveness of interventions through the implementation of integrated projects that comprehensively address the needs and problems of cities and areas functionally connected with them;
- increasing the influence of cities and areas functionally connected with them on the form and manner of implementing measures supported in their area under cohesion policy.
