Zgorzelec police officers working as part of the Lower Silesian SPEED group stopped an Audi driver for a roadside inspection while on duty in the municipality. The driver had ignored the P-4 road marking, that is, a “double solid line.”
During the intervention, it turned out that the violation for which the 28-year-old had been stopped was the least serious offense on his record. In the course of their thorough investigation, officers discovered that the Audi had two different license plates, neither of which was assigned to that vehicle. A drug test also showed that the resident of Bolesławiec County had been driving under the influence of methamphetamine and marijuana.
What is more, officers found exactly the same drugs while searching his car.
The driver was taken to the Zgorzelec police headquarters, while his vehicle was towed to a police parking lot. The 28-year-old will now face the court for the offenses of which he is suspected. He could face up to 5 years in prison.
