The incident occurred on January 10 on Prusa Street in Jelenia Góra. – The 41-year-old, driving a BMW, scraped the vehicle of a Jelenia Góra resident – reports Deputy Inspector Edyta Bagrowska, press officer of the local Municipal Police Headquarters.
She adds: – In order to clarify the situation, the perpetrator pulled onto the roadside and then, after learning that the injured party was calling the Police to the scene, decided to flee. The man deliberately drove his car into the injured party, causing him to fall onto the bonnet, and then suddenly accelerated towards him, attempting to run him over, after which he drove away.
Police detained the 41-year-old, who is suspected of committing the acts mentioned above. It turned out that the resident of Lwówek County had got behind the wheel despite having had his driving licence privileges revoked. He now faces up to three years in prison.
