The incident occurred on Saturday, January 13, in the afternoon. The duty officer at the District Police Headquarters in Lwówek Śląski received a report about a man who had broken into an apartment in Mirsk, where he attacked a young woman who was inside. Pulling her hair and clothes and threatening her with a knife he was holding, he took her money and mobile phone and then fled.

The police immediately began searching the area and places where the man might be staying. Knowing his identity, the officers were aware that they were dealing with a dangerous criminal who had been convicted multiple times in the past. In addition, he was wanted to serve a five-year prison sentence for causing bodily injury to another person. At the direction of the Lwówek command, additional police patrols were sent to arrest the robbery suspect.

The officers went to Gryfów Śląski to check the home of the 41-year-old man. No one was found in the apartment. However, the officers noticed a wide-open window and shoe prints on the ledge, indicating that he had tried to get onto the roof to hide there.

Because of the winter conditions and ice on the building’s infrastructure, the 41-year-old fell from the third floor, suffering multiple fractures. The police provided the man with the necessary assistance and secured him by covering him with a thermal blanket until the emergency medical team arrived. All actions were carried out under the supervision of a prosecutor. The court will decide the man’s further fate.
