The incident occurred on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. on Jana Pawła II Street in Bolesławiec. The officers were probably pursuing a passenger car that turned off Jana Pawła II Street and drove across the lawn between the apartment blocks toward Tysiąclecia Avenue. Tire tracks were left in the grass. However, the police van could not make it through; its front wheels became stuck in the wet ground.

Drivers and passengers of other cars travelling along Jana Pawła II Street came to the officers’ aid. At first, they tried placing some mats under the wheels, but it did not help. Finally, a small passenger Peugeot pulled out the van with a rope.

As an aside, street lighting has not been working for several nights in this section of Jana Pawła II and Wańkowicza streets.
