In the final days of 2023, two collisions at pedestrian crossings took place in Bolesławiec County:
- On 30 December, a road accident occurred in Trzebień, as a result of which two elderly women were taken to hospital. The 82-year-old suffered broken limbs, while the 77-year-old sustained general bruising. The women were struck at a pedestrian crossing. The perpetrator was a 52-year-old driver from Lubań.
- A few days earlier, on Boxing Day, a 48-year-old car driver struck a woman pushing a child’s stroller, also at a pedestrian crossing in Bolesławiec. The child was unharmed, while the town resident was taken to hospital.

We remind drivers to exercise particular caution near pedestrian crossings, and pedestrians to make sure that the driver is able to stop and to ensure that they are visible on the road. Vulnerable road users are often exposed to serious health consequences resulting from road incidents.
