– Snow on a car is an unpleasant surprise that often awaits vehicle owners who park outside covered spaces. Although clearing it away seems like a simple task, it turns out that not everyone manages it. Some drivers clear only a small section of the windshield, thereby creating a danger on the road – both for themselves and others. At the same time, they expose themselves to the consequences in the form of a fine of up to PLN 3,000 – reports junior constable Dominika Kwakszys, press officer of the Złotoryja District Police Headquarters.
A resident of Złotoryja County found this out when he was stopped for a roadside check at night. The spokesperson said: – The man was driving a car covered with a layer of snow. Almost the entire windshield, part of the hood and the registration plate were covered in snow.
She added:
The man explained his behavior by saying he was in a hurry. In addition, during his conversation with the police officers, he displayed a dismissive attitude toward the obligation to properly prepare a vehicle for driving in winter.
The result? The man received a PLN 3,000 fine. What is more, he had to clean his vehicle before continuing his journey.
