Last Saturday, the duty officer at the Zgorzelec police headquarters received a report of an abandoned building on fire in Zgorzelec. Emergency services were immediately dispatched to the scene.

Commissioner Agnieszka Goguł, press officer for the Commander of the District Police Headquarters in Zgorzelec:

Fire service officers evacuated one person and extinguished the fire. Fortunately, no one was injured.

She added: – In this case, police officers arrested a 32-year-old man who admitted that he had wanted to burn his colleagues.

On the basis of the evidence collected, the detainee was charged with exposing two men to the immediate danger of loss of life or serious injury, as well as making threats to kill one of them. The suspect faces up to eight years in prison.

The court remanded the 32-year-old in custody for three months.
