On Wednesday, 13 October, police apprehended a 47-year-old woman from Bolesławiec suspected of distributing illegal alcohol and tobacco. The incident occurred on one of the roads in the Warta Bolesławiecka municipality. The woman failed to stop for a traffic check. The officers gave chase.
In the Bolesławiec woman’s car, the officers found 50 litres of spirits and 11 packs of tobacco without Polish excise stamps, with a total value of nearly PLN 5,000. The 47-year-old told the officers that the alcohol and tobacco had been given to her for safekeeping.
Investigators are determining where the illegal goods came from and where they were intended to go. The suspect faces up to three years’ imprisonment.
