The incident took place on November 2. – The duty officer at the Lwówek police headquarters received a report of a road accident on provincial road no. 364, between the villages of Gradówek and Rząsiny – reports Staff Sergeant Olga Łukaszewicz, press officer for the District Police Headquarters in Lwówek Śląski.
Officers promptly went to the scene and determined that the driver, who had initially left the scene, drove into a roadside ditch as a result of failing to exercise due care, after which the vehicle overturned.
Spokesperson: – While carrying out the necessary procedures, the 53-year-old driver was arrested. A distinct smell of alcohol was detectable from the man. The test showed 1.4 per mille of alcohol in his system.
After sobering up in a police cell, the perpetrator was brought before the District Court in Lwówek Śląski, where he was given a three-year ban on driving motor vehicles and fined 12,000 zlotys.
Moreover, the irresponsible man must pay 5,000 zlotys in compensation to the Road Accident Victims Fund.
