Police officers from the District Officers’ Unit of the Zgorzelec police headquarters stopped the driver of an Audi for a roadside check during their night shift. – When checking the man in available databases, it turned out that the 30-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County had a court-imposed driving ban and was wanted by the justice system. He has a sentence of 1 year and 3 months in prison to serve for crimes against property – says Commissioner Agnieszka Goguł, press officer for the Commander of the County Police Headquarters in Zgorzelec.
That was not the end of it. The spokeswoman said: – Additionally, a drug test showed that the driver was under the influence of methamphetamine. The car was handed over to another person, and the man was taken to the Zgorzelec police headquarters.
Several hours later, while patrolling Zgorzelec, district officers noticed a BMW whose manner of driving could indicate that the driver was under the influence of alcohol. Commissioner A. Goguł:
The officers stopped him for a roadside check, during which the uniformed officers’ suspicions were confirmed. A bottle of whisky was lying under the driver’s feet in the car, and a breathalyzer test of the 22-year-old resident of Zgorzelec County showed that he had more than one per mille of alcohol in his system.
Both drivers will answer for their actions before the court.
