The incident occurred during the night of October 28–29 in Jelenia Góra. The 45-year-old man attacked his 86-year-old grandmother with a knife. He inflicted numerous wounds with the dangerous weapon, including to her head.
The woman was taken to hospital in critical condition. Unfortunately, she could not be saved.
The grandson was detained. Radio Wrocław:
Earlier, the attacker had injured one of the women from the neighborhood in the face with a knife and threatened the neighbors with death; he also damaged five vehicles parked in front of the building.
On Monday, the attacker was brought to the prosecutor’s office, where he was charged. Then the court—at the investigators’ request—ordered his pre-trial detention for three months.
The man faces up to life imprisonment.
