Police officers from the NYSA group in Zgorzelec obtained information through operational work about the smuggling of drugs from the Czech Republic to Poland. – In this case, they undertook a series of measures aimed at preventing this practice – emphasizes Commissioner Agnieszka Goguł, press officer for the Commander of the District Police Headquarters in Zgorzelec. – The operations resulted in the arrest of four men and the seizure of a significant amount of marijuana.

The detainees were traveling in three vehicles. After crossing the border, they handed a bag containing a package to one another in a nearby town, then headed toward Zgorzelec.

Officers from the Criminal Department, working with traffic police officers from the Zgorzelec unit, stopped the vehicles in which four men aged 21, 23 and 33 were traveling. In one of the cars, the officers discovered a bag containing a package.

It turned out to contain nearly 2.5 kilograms of marijuana. All those detained were charged, and then, at the prosecutor's request, the court remanded them in temporary custody for two months.

All four face between three and as many as twenty years in prison.
