At around 9:00 a.m. on October 23, an incident occurred on a straight section of provincial road no. 364 toward Legnica. – According to the police officers’ findings, the woman driving a Volkswagen began overtaking the vehicle traveling ahead of her. Unfortunately, she did not realize that the car behind her had already begun the maneuver – reports junior officer Dominika Kwakszys, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Złotoryja.
She adds: – When she moved into the opposite lane, she caused a collision with an Audi, which, while trying to avoid driving into a ditch, hit two other cars traveling ahead of them. Ultimately, the Audi driver left the road, hit a tree and ended up in a ditch. The at-fault driver’s car overturned. The remaining vehicles stopped on the roadway.
The spokesperson concludes:
The course of the incident and the damage to the cars indicated a serious accident. An ambulance arrived at the scene and examined those involved. Fortunately – thanks to the vehicles’ low speed and the use of seat belts – no one suffered serious bodily injuries.
The at-fault driver received a fine of PLN 3,000 and 10 penalty points.
