A resident of Bolesławiec County who yesterday found an object resembling a projectile in a forest in Bolesławiec Municipality notified the emergency services. Officers from the Police Station in Kruszyn secured the site so that nobody—apart from the sappers—could approach it.

Soldiers from the Bolesławiec Bomb Disposal Patrol of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment secured the dangerous discovery.

Bolesławiec police officers:

We remind everyone of the need to notify the relevant services if an object that may be unexploded ordnance is found. Leaving it behind poses a tremendous threat to the lives and health of other people.

They add:

Despite the passage of years, discoveries of this kind may still be extremely dangerous. Digging them up or attempting to disarm them is prohibited. They must not be touched, moved, dug up or sawn.
