On September 27, at around 2 p.m., the duty officer at the Lubin police received a report from a desperate woman who said that, through inattention, she had locked her three-year-old child in a car in one of the car parks in Ścinawa. She had previously fastened the child into a safety seat.
– Officers from the local police station immediately went to the scene – reports asp. szt. Sylwia Serafin, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Lubin. – Taking into account the welfare of the child, who according to the desperate mother had already been in the car for around 20 minutes, while the outside temperature was approximately 30 degrees Celsius, the officers made the swift decision to break a window.
Fortunately, nothing happened to the child. The frightened girl—safe and unharmed—could return to her mother’s arms.
Spokeswoman: – Once everything was over, the officers established the course of events. The woman opened the car and placed the keys on the seat. After putting her little daughter in the child seat, she wanted to sit behind the wheel. At that moment, the vehicle’s doors closed and were additionally locked by the central locking system. The child remained inside.

Let us remember never to leave children or animals in a car, even for a moment. The interior of a car heats up very quickly, and the temperature inside is considerably higher than outside. Leaving a passenger in a car, even for a short time, may put their health at risk and, in extreme cases, even their life.
