On 25 September 2023, a meeting of the Bolesławiec County Public Benefit Council was held at the Bolesławiec County Office. It had a dual purpose: saying farewell to the members of the fifth term and welcoming the new members appointed for the next three years.
The meeting was attended by the Bolesławiec County Starost Tomasz Gabrysiak. In his words of thanks, he emphasized that the Council’s opinions are valuable guidance for the Board concerning cooperation between the local government and non-governmental organizations. He thanked them for their activity and commitment to the local community. – It is thanks to your work and commitment – the Starost said – that many initiatives addressed to the residents of our County take place.
Later in the meeting, the Bolesławiec County Starost presented the appointments to the Bolesławiec County Public Benefit Council for 2023–2026. In accordance with Resolution No. 808/2023 of the Board of Bolesławiec County dated 10 July 2023, the sixth-term Council consists of:
- Jadwiga Bobek – representative of the County Council,
- Leokadia Krawiecka – representative of the County Council,
- Stanisław Chwojnicki – representative of the County Board,
- Katarzyna Grzelczyk – representative of the County Board,
- Piotr Fita – Football Academy Bolesławiec Student Sports Club,
- Maria Klimkowska – Friends of Children Society, Bolesławiec Branch,
- Beata Torończak – Polish Youth Hostels Association,
- Władysława Kotlarek – Bolesławiec Amazons Club,
- Katarzyna Gondek-Wieczorek – Czasami Foundation.
The Council’s presidium was then elected. It consists of:
- Leokadia Krawiecka – chairperson,
- Katarzyna Gondek-Wieczorek – deputy chairperson,
- Piotr Fita – secretary.
The Council’s tasks are defined by the Act on Public Benefit Activity and Volunteerism and include, in particular:
- giving opinions on draft county development strategies,
- giving opinions on draft resolutions and local legal acts concerning public tasks and cooperation with non-governmental organizations, including the county’s cooperation program with those organizations,
- expressing opinions on matters concerning the operation of non-governmental organizations in the county,
- providing assistance and expressing opinions in disputes between public administration bodies and non-governmental organizations,
- expressing opinions on matters concerning public tasks, including entrusting those tasks to non-governmental organizations for implementation and on recommended standards for implementing public tasks.
