Bolesławiec police about the incident:
A fatal accident occurred tonight on the A4 motorway (...). A 24-year-old resident of Zgorzelec County, driving a passenger car while intoxicated, collided with the rear of a car transporter. The passenger in the car, also a resident of Zgorzelec County, died as a result of the incident. The perpetrator had more than 2 per mille of alcohol in his system. He was detained by Bolesławiec police officers.
Firefighters from Bolesławiec and Krzyżowa, an emergency medical team, as well as police and a prosecutor took part in the operation. Investigators are determining the causes and circumstances of the tragedy.
