On September 8, 2023, we celebrated the first nationwide Medical Rescuers’ Day, established by the Sejm of the Republic of Poland together with the Act of December 1, 2022, on the profession of medical rescuer and the self-government of medical rescuers.
– Our qualifications are completely different from those of nurses, although some overlap – explains Mr. Paweł, a medical rescuer from St. Luke’s Hospital in Bolesławiec. – We are not directly involved in nursing care; we respond to incidents involving a threat to life or health. Our task is to stabilize the patient, provide first aid and transport them to hospital.
To become a medical rescuer, one needs to complete a three-year bachelor’s degree and 5,000 hours of internship.
Among others, firefighters from Trzebień did not forget to send their wishes to medical rescuers:
Best wishes to all medical rescuers.
We wish you every success and thank you for your daily effort and dedication in carrying out difficult and responsible work for the benefit of others. We wish you satisfaction and joy arising from your passion and the opportunity to save human lives.
We extend special wishes to our fellow firefighters and medical rescuers – Jacek Bram and Jakub Nenkin, medical rescuers who serve every day at the County Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec, as well as to our colleagues from the Emergency Medical Services team in Bolesławiec, with whom we work every day at incidents.
Wishes for medical rescuers from Bolesławiec
