– Police officers were notified by witnesses of the animal being abused. Concerned residents noticed a man beating, kicking and throwing a several-month-old kitten to the ground – reports asp. Przemysław Rybikowski, press officer for KPP in Polkowice.
He adds: – Przemków police officers who were sent to the scene immediately arrested the 53-year-old, and then secured the evidence in the case. Unfortunately, there was no longer any hope for the animal when the intervention was carried out.
The arrested man will be charged with abusing an animal with particular cruelty. The Głogów court remanded the perpetrator in custody for three months. The man faces up to five years in prison.
