On Wednesday, September 15, Bolesławiec police conducted the “Seat Belts” operation. Officers paid particular attention to whether drivers and passengers were wearing their seat belts. The results are not encouraging. The officers checked 91 cars. As many as 80 people were traveling without fastened seat belts.

Police remind the public: seat belts are the most effective way to ensure safety while driving. Half of those killed in road accidents could have survived if they had been wearing seat belts at the moment of the collision. Moreover, failing to wear a seat belt is an offense punishable by a PLN 100 fine and 2 penalty points.
