On September 2, a gathering of generations of commandos from the 62nd Special Company “Commando” took place beneath the monument to the Fallen Soldiers of the First Independent Commando Company and the Deceased Soldiers of the 62nd Special Company.
23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment in Bolesławiec: – This year’s celebrations commemorating the 30th anniversary of adopting the traditions and heritage of Commando brought together numerous soldiers from special forces units and supporters of the former elite commando unit.

During the ceremony, distinctions were presented to those who had made the greatest contributions to preserving the traditions and achievements of the special forces; a roll call of remembrance was read, and bouquets of flowers were laid beneath the monument symbolizing the soldiers’ service and the commandos’ achievements.

After the ceremony, a military picnic titled “Commandos Then and Now” was held, featuring military equipment and the gear of special forces units. Artillerymen from the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment presented rocket and reconnaissance equipment, while at a promotional stand, together with WCR Bolesławiec soldiers, they provided information about the conditions of service and recruitment for professional and voluntary basic military service. During the picnic, soldiers of the 23rd Artillery Regiment also played a basketball game against American soldiers stationed in Bolesławiec. (The Poles won – editor’s note: istotne.pl). Among the many military attractions were parachute-jumping demonstrations by special forces soldiers, military contests, and demonstrations of weapons and military equipment.
