– An officer from the Traffic Division of the Zgorzelec police station, while on duty in the town of Zgorzelec, noticed a moped and signalled for it to stop – reports Sergeant Joanna Podhalska of the District Police Headquarters in Zgorzelec.
The two-wheeler's rider had no intention of stopping; on the contrary, he avoided the uniformed officer and accelerated sharply. The officer began a pursuit.
District officers joined the operation. The fugitive was arrested. The spokesperson: – It turned out that the 25-year-old was not licensed to drive, was under the influence of methamphetamine and was riding a vehicle reported missing from Germany.
Our fellow county resident will now answer for driving without a licence and under the influence of narcotics, as well as for failing to stop for a traffic check. The 25-year-old faces up to five years in prison.
