The incident occurred today after 2:00 p.m. in Bolesławiec County. Several police cars and an ambulance were at the scene in front of the police officer’s family home.

“The police officers were wearing bulletproof vests,” says a witness who saw the incident. “Apparently, the man locked his wife and children in the basement. He later fled. The police eventually caught him and took him to a psychiatric hospital,” the man adds.

The police, however, do not confirm the account that he threatened his family.

“Today, police officers intervened in a case involving one of the officers of the Bolesławiec police headquarters. He has not been on duty for several weeks, however, for health reasons. The findings made do not indicate that the officer threatened his family members or any other people; he was not detained and is not wanted for detention. During the intervention, he received assistance from the medics called to the scene. However, it was not related to any injury or impairment of bodily functions. Since the intervention directly concerned the officer’s private life, under the applicable regulations we cannot provide any more information about its course and circumstances,” reports Acting Sergeant Bartłomiej Sobczyszyn, deputy press officer for the County Police Commander in Bolesławiec.
