– On Tuesday, August 8, 2023, the duty officer at the Lwówek Śląski County Police Headquarters received a report from a woman who, while walking in a forest in the Lwówek Śląski municipality, noticed a dog hanging from a branch – reports Staff Sergeant Olga Łukaszewicz, press officer of the Lwówek Śląski County Police Headquarters. – Police officers confirmed the information and carried out a series of activities at the crime scene.
She adds: – As a result of the operational and investigative work, detectives determined that the incident had occurred several months earlier. At that time, the 53-year-old noticed a dog that had been hit by a passing car. The animal suffered serious injuries and was in pain. As the man explained, in order to relieve the animal’s suffering, he decided to end its life by hanging it from a branch in a nearby forest.
The 53-year-old resident of the Lwówek Śląski municipality was arrested and charged with killing the dog, to which he confessed. The man now faces up to three years in prison.
