On 23 July, officers from the Railway Police Commissariat of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław, working with representatives of the ECPU Polska Foundation, arrested a man suspected of soliciting a minor under the age of 15 to engage in sexual intercourse. – For an extended period, the 65-year-old had been corresponding via an online messenger with a person claiming to be a minor, and during the conversations he was moving toward carrying out his proposal to engage in sexual intercourse by expressing a desire to get to know and meet her more closely – reports junior aspirant Tomasz Nowak from the Press Section of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław. – The suspect was unaware that committing this act was impossible because an adult was on the other side of the screen.
He adds: – After arriving in Wrocław to meet the minor, the man encountered police officers, who arrested him on suspicion of committing an offense. The mobile phone found on the man was handed over to an expert, who found pornographic material in its memory in the form of photographs involving minors under the age of 15.
Based on the evidence collected by the police, the 65-year-old was presented with a total of three charges: two for attempting to solicit a minor under the age of 15 to engage in sexual intercourse and one for possessing pornographic material involving minors under the age of 15. Spokesperson: – The suspect fully admitted to the acts he was charged with.
Junior aspirant T. Nowak adds: – The prosecutor’s office applied to the court for the man to be remanded in temporary custody. The court granted the request and ordered this most severe preventive measure for three months. The 65-year-old will now await further court decisions in his case, and he could face up to five years in prison.
