The incident occurred on Tuesday, July 25. As Pogotowie Ratunkowe w Jeleniej Górze reports:
(...) at 10:28 a.m., our #D0222 team, namely #ZRMSwieradowZdroj, received an emergency call concerning a cyclist who felt a sudden, severe pain in his chest in a mountainous area. The situation sounded all the more serious because the pain occurred during exertion! When the symptoms appeared, the man was on one of the mountain trails. The “Ratunek” app was used to determine the exact location of the incident.
GOPR Karkonosze was dispatched to the incident. The rescuers evacuated the injured man and then handed him over to rescuers from Świeradów-Zdrój.
The emergency service adds:
After examining the patient, our medics, Darek and Przemek, decided that urgent transport to the Regional Hospital Centre of the Jeleniogórska Valley was necessary – given the acute heart attack visible on the ECG, there was no time to lose, and the patient had to be taken directly to the haemodynamics laboratory!
