Update 11:49

The drone was spotted at around 6:00 p.m. by employees of a nearby petrol station and a cyclist passing by. The services were notified of the incident. They found the aircraft approximately 200 metres from the voivodeship road, in a forested area.

A US Army representative arrived at the scene shortly afterwards and informed the Polish uniformed officers that the drone belonged to the Americans. The unmanned aircraft was secured.

There was no danger to human life. There was also no explosion or fire.

As we read on rmf24.pl:

According to unofficial findings by RMF FM, the Americans were conducting exercises at a nearby training ground. Trzebień borders military areas belonging to the 10th Armoured Cavalry Brigade in Świętoszów.

The service adds: – As RMF FM reporter Krzysztof Zasada learned, the unmanned aircraft “got away” from the soldiers during training. According to the outlet, the unmanned aircraft was found and no one was injured.

In turn, wp.plreports that:

According to firefighters, the object had a wingspan of approximately 8 metres.

We asked the Bolesławiec police about the matter in the morning. They referred us to the Military Police in Żagań. Unfortunately, despite several attempts, we were unable to contact the latter’s spokesperson.

Let us recall. Today, shortly after midnight, we reported:

Firefighters received information about an object that had fallen from the sky to the ground near Trzebień at around 6:00 p.m. At least two fire crews were dispatched to the scene.

The services are not willing to provide any information for now, apart from confirming that several units were sent there.

Readers wrote to us that they had seen three fire-service crews in Trzebień, an all-terrain vehicle from the Trzebień Volunteer Fire Service and a police car. Residents suspect that an American unmanned aircraft or a larger drone fell to the ground.
